About

Lain Kienzle (they/them) is a Brooklyn-based yoga teacher (RYT-200) and circus artist.

Lain came to yoga after years of feeling disembodied and disempowered. Thanks to many generous, inspiring teachers, Lain’s practice has become a space for them to feel strong, graceful, and held. That’s the gift they hope to pass on to students. Through challenging yet accessible flows, self-massage, practical mobility, and tender rest, Lain hopes to create space for however their students show up in every class. They completed their 200-hour teacher training at Shambhala Yoga and Dance.

As a circus artist, Lain performs mainly on aerial hammock/sling, and is in the process of learning dance trapeze. Usually, they perform delightfully weird character pieces, but sometimes you can catch them exploring more tender subjects in their work. Lain has performed at The Slipper Room, Aerial Arts, Om Factory and Cirquehaus.

Previously, Lain worked in the Film and TV industry as a script supervisor, with credits on everything from comedy TV shows to independent features, including Saturday Night Live, Fire Island, The Last OG, That Damn Michael Che, John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch, Janet Planet, and The Mountain. Lain’s own projects have garnered praise from Slamdance, Cinequest, and the Denver, Woodstock, Bentonville and Nashville Film Festivals.

No matter what Lain is working on, they love making the people around them feel seen and strong. Their greatest joy is bringing a little more ease and fun to others’ lives.
