Poppy believes she can travel to other worlds after a family tragedy. As her mother desperately tries to bring her back to reality, Poppy pulls away harder.

For her junior year film at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Lain took on the task of writing, directing, and acting in her own short film. Shot entirely at one location in upstate New York, the film delves into how we cope with loss and how we relate to our families in times of grief.

At the New Visions and Voices Festival in 2013, the film received the following awards:

  • Faculty Commendation
  • Best Screenplay
  • Best Lead Actress
